Jericho women charitable society (JWCS) has been established since 1963 by a group of pioneer women in the society interested in social work. These formidable women have taken the responsibility to raise the level of education in their society and elevate the status of women’s contribution to the community by empowering them.
Since the establishment of the JWCS in the early sixties, the society has had many projects and departments that aim to fulfill its goals. Starting from a kindergarten for children in Jericho then developing into another branch in Auja village and ending into establishing a primary and middle school, the JWCS has fulfilled its educational goal towards the society in Jericho and the Jordan valley.
Furthermore, the JWCS has created many opportunities for empowering women by providing many training courses and services to them and giving them the chance to be their own breadwinners and be self dependent.
